Johnston Vocal Parents Association (VPA) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers who work to support the vocal music programs at Johnston High School and Johnston Middle School.  Each year our members contribute both money and time to improve the vocal music experience for our kids.  There are opportunities to: 

• organize meals

• measure for choir clothes

• repair costumes

• chaperone events

• help organize Madrigal and Showzam

• assemble and transport equipment

• and almost everything in between.

Our volunteers contribute more than 4,000 hours each year to our vocal music programs. Our fundraising efforts provide grants and other financial assistance to individual students, choir ensembles and critical equipment such as risers and sound system components.  There are many opportunities to get involved, in big or small ways.  With more than 680 students over 12 choirs and show choirs, we are always happy to welcome more helpers who want to keep our program strong.

The Johnston VPA raises money to provide scholarships and equipment for the vocal music programs at JHS and JMS.  Some of our efforts include:

• Concession Stand Duty - Throughout the year we will be working concession stands at football games and other Johnston athletic activities. This is a fun way to get to know other parents in the program and the VPA earns 30% of the profits each time we work.
