The Justice High School Publications Boosters strive to enrich, support and promote our award-winning publications program. We work to enhance the excellence and inclusivity of our publications and the student and faculty experience by raising funds, seeking sponsorships and donations, and collaborating on current and future needs and priorities.
Our student publications allow Justice High School student journalists and artists to hone their skills and produce work that matters to them, giving our young people an outlet to express themselves while learning valuable collaborative and independent life skills.
Last year, our student newspaper (The Verdict) and yearbook (The Howl) clinched the highest distinctions in the state at the Virginia High School League Publications Competition - a testament to the dedication, talent and hard-work of our students and faculty advisors.
Donations will go directly to students - whether to add to supplement current JHS student publications, to send JHS student journalists to award ceremonies, to expand JHS student journalistic opportunities, and/or to help students participate in academic workshops, field trips and university programs dedicated to journalism. The Verdict is the VHSL award-winning news publication written and produced by Justice High School students.
The Verdict searches for Justice — Both in the fact that student journalists try to report on things unjust within our community, but also that they literally search for important information to give the Justice community. The paper is designed to be a communication link between students, their school, and the community. The Verdict also exists as an academic tool by which student staff members explore communication skills and careers.
