HISTORY
Sto. Domingo National High School started as a Barangay High School in 1976, with only 20 students. This school was placed in one of the elementary rooms in San Fernando Sto. Domingo, Albay. The pioneer teacher of the high school, Mrs. Marina F. Estrella organized the PTA in order to provide incentives to the elementary teachers handling the subjects. After a yearer enrollees increased then through a resolution signed by the PTA the municipal mayor called a session with the Sangguniang Bayan to appropriate a budget for the operational expenses of the school.
After two years the Parish Priest donated a parcel of land to house the high school permanently in the poblacion. They put temporary rooms made of bamboo and nipa shingles. So much inspired by the manifestation of the community the students themselves helped constructing additional room during their practical arts period. Time flies so swiftly teachers come and students graduates with flying colors with encouraged neighboring barangays to enroll their children in the said school. This students made the high school very popular in the first district of Albay. Since politics is indispensable to education the Teacher-in-charge solicited buildings and other needs of the students and teachers from the Congressman Agencies. After 34 years it produces successful professionals in the field of education, business, and many others. It has now 66 strong pillars who can boast the morale of high school and almost 2,600 students safely guarded 24hrs by 3 security guards. We have also 30 sets of computers in the Laboratory room ready to use by students and teachers anytime during school hours. Added to this is the presence of Radio Station in the campus manage by one of the Values Teacher and source of practicum for competition in Radio Broadcasting during Press Conference.
