Events Held
Walkthrough Iniatative
On Sepetember 29th, 2025, the Jamaica Hill Community Association and Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society co hosted the walkthrough in Hillside Avenue. Both organizations collaborated with Council Member James Gennero's Office, Queens Boroough President Donavan Richards Office, Department of Transportation (DOT) , Department of Sanitation (DSNY), residents and business owners. DOT and DSNY took notes of their conerns and will follow up with the residents and business coners regards to the concern. The event received coverage by Queens Chronicle and Bangladeshi news media.
Palm Card Distribution
On Saturday, October 25th, both Saaif Alam and Fifi Asefa distributed the ballot proposals. Palm cards were to passengers in the Hillside Avenue Parsons Blvd station. The ballot proposals 2-4 provided voters with a choice whether City Council members can retain their power in local matters including housing. Both Alam and Asefa distributed dozens of copies of palm cards to ensure passengers make an informed decision by the time they vote during early voting, election day or absentee voting.
Winter Coat Drive
The Winter Coat Drive was held from November 3rd- November 7th and colllected clothes to donate to people in need from jamaica Muslim center.
Parks Clean Up
We collaborated with Save the People, Jamaica Muslim Center Youtth, Partnership of Captain Tilly Park and Jamaica Bangaldesh Friends Society on Saturday November 8th. Our event had over 30 people in attendance including our youths.
Turkey Giveaway
On Wednesday, November 27th, we donated Halal Turkeys to families in need in Hillside Avenue and 167th before Thanksgiving. We were able to provide a large supply of turkeys and families felt thankful for our support before Thanksgiving.
Toy Giveway
On Saturday, December 20th the Jamaica Hill Community Association collaboarted with Save the People for the Toy Giveaway. Both organizations donated a number of toys to children in need for the holiday season.
