I am currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Physics at Xi’an Jiaotong University (C9 League). I received my Ph.D. in 2023 and Master’s degree in 2016, both from Xi’an Jiaotong University. I was a visiting researcher at Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems with Prof. Metin Sitti from 2021 to 2023, focusing on developing novel smart medical implants and miniature soft robots. My PhD research focused on: (1) Developing integrated soft materials 3D printing (3DP) platform and the printing strategy, which solves the problem occured in surface and interface between different materials durging 3DP. (2) Developing the intelligent soft robotic system which integrating actuation, sensing and logic control. (3) Studying the closed-loop control of soft robots by signal analysis and mechine learning. (4) Exploring the potential applications of soft robots in the field of energy, medical and rescue.

My current research interests include the design, fabrication and control of small-scale soft intelligent systems, which involves micro/nano fabrication, advanced material based soft actuators and sensors, multi-soft-material 3D printing. I’m still eager and enthusiastic to learn new things.

My motivation to devote myself to scientific research comes from my belief that the advancement of science and technology can truly improve human life and make a better world for all of us. It was also highly motivated by the aesthetic pleasure that research, creation and discovery bring me. There is beauty in both science and engineering. I believe soft robotics can shine in the future and help us in all kind of fields, which is charming and exciting.
