HOSA (Future Health Professionals) is an international student organization that promotes career opportunities in the healthcare industry and enhances the delivery of quality healthcare through leadership, education, and service.
Can I still join HOSA if I'm not taking a Health Science course?
Can I still join HOSA if I'm not taking a Health Science course?
Yes! Dobie HOSA is open to all students interested in health care. While you're not required to be enrolled in a Health Science course, taking one can provide a stronger foundation, especially since many competitive events involve foundational knowledge in healthcare, such as medical terminology or basic health science concepts (if not more).
How and when can I join Dobie HOSA? If you're interested in joining the Dobie HOSA family, simply reach out to one of our advisors or officers -- they'll guide you through the next steps of the sign-up process! Am I required to participate in Competitive Events? No, you are not required to participate in competitive events. However, we would like to encourage you to do so as this is what HOSA is about! If you're unsure of which event to compete in, check out the HOSA-competitive-events-guide, or reach out to an advisor for more guidance!
