• My name is Jenny Folan Custer

• I am a Johnstown native and 2006 graduate of Richland High School.

• I am a 2010 alumna of Shippensburg University with a major in social studies education and a minor in political science.

• I completed my master's degree in English education in the spring of 2017 from IUP.

• Before my time at Conemaugh Township I taught social studies and English from August 2013 until January of 2017 at Lenape Technical School in Ford City, PA.  Lenape is a comprehensive vo-tech, which means that my students received both vocational and academic classes in one building.

• During the 2025-2026 school year at CT I will be teaching:

  • AP Human Geography

  • Global Studies II

  • Psychology

  • Sociology

  • Civics 9

  • Social and Emotional Learning 

• I'm also the co-advisor of the Gifted program with Mr. Jakeb Rising.

• I am the business manager for the musical and in charge of ticket sales.

• My husband, Mitchell, is also a teacher; he is the band director for grades 7-12 at Forest Hills.  Additionally, he is the Concert Band director at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

• We have a daughter, Lila, born in May of 2020 and a son, Henry, born in May of 2024.  

• In my spare time I like to run, read, eat, and spend time outdoors.

• Mitch, Lila, and Henry, and I live in Conemaugh Township in a house we built in 2023.  We have three pets: A cuddly orange tabby, Fritz, a lovey brown tabby, Daniel Tiger and a new Miniature Schnauzer puppy named Darcy. 

I absolutely love my work at Conemaugh Township.  We have the warmest, most accepting, and loving community and I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach in this district.  We love it so much we moved here!  I am privileged to know wonderful students and to work with such a fabulous faculty, staff, and administration.  I look forward to another amazing year!
