Should Robots be used on Earth? By Luke and Jett
Introduction - Luke
Picture this… you open your door one day and robots are walking on your street. What do you think, would you freak out? Do you think that robots should be used on earth? You would be surprised how many robots are out there right now taking people's jobs or helping people in their jobs. You might even have a robot in your home right now.
What types of robots are there? -Luke
Medical robots... That's right. Robotic experts have set their sights on the medical field. Many believe that robots could soon be a regular member of any hospital's medical staff performing all sorts of duties like taking a patient's vitals, reading case notes, or even performing surgery!
Military robots ... Everyone knows that being a soldier is a very dangerous job, but some of the tasks that soldiers do are required to be more dangerous than others. Such as walking through minefields, deactivating unexploded bombs or clearing out hostile buildings, for example, are some of the most dangerous tasks a person is asked to perform in the line of duty. These robots can save lives.
Household robots. Household robots are robots that can perform chores around the house, such as vacuuming and cleaning your house, mowing the lawns, and many more such as people-less cars.
What are the Pros of robots?-Jett/Luke
They can work 24/7. Yup that's right Robots can continue when humans have to take breaks. Robots keep working even when humans get sick, or go on holidays, seek a career change. Robots can keep working, all day every day if you want them to.
Robots now deliver food!. Food delivery robots have already started to deliver customer food orders in Northern California, America. Small service robots now show up to restaurants, get loaded with food, and then travel to hungry people.
What are the cons of Robots?- Luke
Most Robots in the world Have a nasty habit of taking people's jobs . I mean, business owners have to do what it takes to maximize profits. And the brutal efficiency of robots makes them perfect for the task. Humans just can’t compete with a robot that can work 24/7 without making any mistakes. That fact can force people out of jobs they’ve done their entire lives. Like our checkout - we don't even need someone to check our shopping self service now.
Robots can’t think for themselves (yet). They rely on clever humans to program them to do specific tasks. And, though artificial intelligence machine learning is coming on fast, this is a limiting factor in what Robots can do. They can’t magic themselves up new capabilities at the drop of a hat. They can’t think outside the box or do anything other than the task for which they’re programmed.
IS there a danger of robots taking over the world and killing off all us humans? Needless to say, it’s a terrifying prospect, made even worse by how Practical this eventuality is! Computers are getting more and more intelligent by the day. Sooner or later they’ll develop anew level of sentience that enables them to make decisions for themselves.
How do People make robots- Jett
An industrial robot is a robot system used for manufacturing. ... Typical applications of robots include welding, painting, assembly, disassembly, pick and place for printed circuit boards, packaging and labeling, palletizing, product inspection, and testing; all accomplished with high endurance, speed, and precision.
Could Robots Ever Be Smarter Than Humans? - Luke
Some people predict that robots will be smarter than humans by 2045. But others say it will take hundreds of years before robots become smarter than humans. These computers are still not as complex as a human brain. However, some computers are extremely powerful and they could do things better than humans.
why did people invent robots- Jett-Luke
Robots were invented to do a special task such as moving big pieces of metal, building cars and many more tasks. To this day robots can save lives like heart rate monitors.Robots are widely used in manufacturing, assembly and packing, transport, earth and space exploration, surgery, weaponry, laboratory research, and mass production of consumer and industrial goods.
Could robots ever have feelings - Jett
This way of thinking is due to the nonconscious manner in which we assume that a The feeling was originally used to describe the physical sensation of touch through either experience or perception, the word is also used to describe other experiences, such as "a feeling of warmth" and of sentience in general. ... Feelings are only felt and are abstract in nature. They cannot be touched.
Conclusion - Luke
Do people really need robots on Earth? Yes, we think we do. They help us all over the world... from help at home, work and even in space. We don’t need robots to be human, we need them to be useful!.
Robots can help humans with tons of jobs such as Hazardous jobs like poor lighting, toxic chemicals, Bomb defusing And Many More. They are capable of lifting heavy loads without any injury or tiring. Robots also help people with jobs that people don't want to do like farming, mowing the lawns, feeding the cat and dog and driving you somewhere. There are jobs out there right now that one day robots will do - which means we as humans better watch out!

An interesting topic boys! I could see that you got on well during this inquiry. There was some communication, but not a lot.
Keep doing:
Planning & Timesheet: Done
Reflection: Good to see you did yours Luke and by week 3 you realised how much you still needed to do and reflected on this! Great honesty and learning.

Numerical data: Do
Due to the vast difference in work out put between you from looking at the percentages and time you will get separated grades. You're both very capable, but equally need to do the mahi!
