In 2016, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, emphasizing Zoology. During my undergraduate studies, I was an active member of several clubs, including a scientific journal review group, where I developed an appreciation for academic research. After graduation, I worked as an Aquatic Invasive Species Intern for the Parks Department, assisting with volunteer training programs. This experience sparked my passion for working with volunteers and led me to work for several nonprofit organizations, focusing on volunteer recruitment and training.Â
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I initially planned to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. However, my love for learning and community engagement ultimately led me to the field of Library and Information Science. Since beginning my MLIS, I have held two library positions. I started as a Research Services Graduate Assistant at the St. Kate's Library, supporting students and faculty with research and assisting with campus initiatives. Now, I work as a Library Aide for the Legislative Reference Library, assisting with reference services, accessibility efforts, and digitization projects.
