I am Jessica Van Heuveln (formerly known as Jessica Fincel). I am the Google Support Specialist for the State of Iowa Office of the Department of Management, Division of Information Technology. Through my experience as a Technology Resource Integrationist at Atlantic Community School District, I have gained the skills to develop training materials that reach novice and expert users creatively.
As a lifetime learner, I enjoy opportunities that allow me to gain more insight into Google Workspace, take what I have learned, and then share my newfound knowledge and expertise. I continually develop and edit training materials to assist users in expanding their skill sets to improve their overall work experience. I love to help people reach their “aha” moments!
Throughout my career, I have successfully resolved multiple problems and completed various projects from the beginning to the end. My notable achievements include leading, creating, and directing training for state of Iowa employees, designing and maintaining websites for communication and collaboration, and developing educational programs presented in various formats, such as group discussions, lectures, self-paced learning, and videos. Additionally, I have created projects and workflows using Google Workspace and Cloud products, served as a Brand Administrator and Support Program Lead for Qualtrics (Test Iowa - COVID-19), and developed a communication and training plan to launch the Okta Single Sign-On tool. I have also established and tracked project milestones, accounted for unforeseen delays, and ensured timely delivery of projects.

I want to give a big kudos to Jessica Van Heuveln. Jessica assisted DAS with a new DAS Intranet which launched last week. Jessica was a wealth of knowledge regarding google sites. I appreciated Jessica's insight throughout the process and would recommend Jessica's assistance to others. I really appreciated all the work Jessica did to make this project a success. Tera Granger
Since I didn't get a chance to see you all yesterday afternoon and say thanks on our video conference, I wanted to send out a quick message this morning to share how grateful I am for all your work over the past week to screen applications, request clarifications from applicants, and process all the materials. Not only did you set some new records for the speed with which technical review can be completed, you also processed more applications than any other prior grant this office has ever handled. And with Jessica V. and Jolene's help, you setup a new website for review committee members...from scratch!
Thank you again for your assistance with this important process and for taking time away from your regular duties. Your role in this effort was crucial. Because you completed your work on time, the evaluation committee and review committee can begin their part of the process on schedule today. Thank you again for all your hard work! Matt Behrens
Wanted to take a moment to let you know that Jessica Van Heuveln is awesome. She is a wealth of information and always ready and willing to help. One of my board members has trouble with his state account. I was not able to help him. And this is not the first time he has had trouble. Jessica was able to get him situated. I really appreciate it! And wanted to pass along something good. Lori SchraderBachar
Just wanted to let you know that Jessica and Jolene have done an amazing job with the Okta communication. They have great ideas, are able to adapt as things change and have created a quality site for users with instructions, FAQ's and everything Okta. We wouldn't have gotten very far in this roll out without them. Thanks for allowing them to work on this project. Debbie O'Leary
Thank you for all the hard work and extremely valuable organization strategies to keep us on task with the Qualtrics component of this project. Test Iowa v2.0 would not be in the state it is in today without your dedication and technical understanding! All the best on your next projects. Mark Pendergast
Jessica, the experience and expertise you continue to bring to the TestIowa project is obvious and greatly appreciated! I especially appreciate your efforts getting Sterling up to speed. Jeff Van Engelenhoven
From Amber, Sherri and I we can't thank you enough for all your help with everything! I remember our first meeting with you and feeling like, "WE NEED YOU!" 🙂 It has been a pleasure getting to know you and having your assistance with our Call Center needs. You leave a tremendous hole in this program, but we are looking forward to working with Sterling. Thanks again and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Abby Raymer
