As a GEC teacher I am responsible for designing one-on-one English Literature classes for my students, helping them build research skills and narrow their project scope into a polished and defined thesis. I teach a variety of literary topics from my specialization in the Romantic period, to American literature, to theory––I am on call to teach whatever subjects my students need.
I was chosen as an emerging women writer to represent the talent within the city of Toronto and inspire young writers across Canada. I will be writing five short stories and articles for the “Social Issues” and “Arts” platforms of Inkspire’s journal and website. The program provides an opportunity to gain hands-on publishing experience, build a professional writing portfolio, and engage with Toronto’s literary community.
I currently serve as a social secretary for the English Graduates of Oxford Committee. I am essentially a project manager creating community. I organize a variety of events for the English Graduate community, including brunches, social evenings and end of term celebrations, just to name a few.
I have received multiple awards and scholarships throughout my academic career. Most recently, I was awarded the 2023-24 Margaret Penman Scholarship by the New College Council Scholarship Committee at the University of Toronto. All 6,300+ New College students are automatically considered for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded solely on the basis of academic merit in English literature. I have also been recognized by the University of Toronto's International Experience Award partial grant to study abroad at the University of Oxford during the summer of 2024.

My partner and I make fun, academically engaging YouTube videos in our respective areas of expertise. I specialize in video essays discussing literature, theatre, and film while using an interdisciplinary and/or New Historicist lens analyzing historical, socio-political, psychological, and sociological topics.
I created a database of research to organize my findings during my previous work on Hannah More's The Cottage Cook for the essay "A Recipe for Ideology: The Political Unconscious in The Cottage Cook." The research includes 18th century newspaper clippings, More's personal history, and socio-historical contexts of cooking. It is now a comprehensive and easily navigable website for information on the otherwise unresearched text.

As a blackbelt, I taught complex shotokan karate to students of all ages and abilities––both children and adults at Summit Karate in Toronto. I was responsible for demonstrating moves and teaching techniques while creating a safe, energetic, fun environment for students. I have spent over 15 years training as a martial artist and have committed much of my life to karate.
I continue to participate in the martial arts community in Oxford as a member of the University of Oxford karate team, pursuing Oxford Blues for the Women's team. I participated in women's B-team kumite at Varsity, winning 12 points for Oxford in mixed kumite against Cambridge.
I am also in the process of organizing and teaching women’s self defence classes at New College with the help of the Middle Common Room team.
I am responsible for taking stenographer level notes for all my classes at the University of Toronto, documenting and sharing the information with my classmates. This has proven to be of valuable assistance, especially to my fellow students.
I was an executive member of the University of Toronto’s Creative writing club. I have been an involved member since I transferred and wanted to contribute to the creative writing community. As an executive member, I helped plan events, run club meetings and writing events, prepare writing and leading prompts, as well as run the University of Toronto Creative Writing social media pages as of November 2024.
