1. Know that there are different ukulele sizes!
2. I always recommend getting the CONCERT sized ukulele! (OR a Soprano w/ a "long neck")
It's more comfortable for average/ adult-sized hands and fingers. (Not too small, not too large! Just right!)
If you're a younger player or have kid-sized hands, please buy a soprano or concert.
3. Know what tuning your ukulele is in!
All ukulele sizes (Sopranissimo, Soprano, Concert & Tenor) share the standard gCEA (high g) tuning EXCEPT for the baritone! Baritones are tuned DGBE. Of course, you can always change the strings to your liking to reach different octaves. There are tenor ukuleles that are GCEA (low G).
*BONUS TIP: If you can play the ukulele and get a feel for it and hear it, it's so much better. However, this may not be the case for everyone. The ukuleles I recommend are tried-and-true! (Most are Jessica Maeve Approved🤘🏼which means I own the ukulele, and I play it regularly!)
You'll never have to worry about scrunched up fingers with a long neck soprano
