I presented my PhD thesis defense in September 2023. I also created and presented scientific posters at local and national conferences.
For a general science communication event in June 2023, I presented two back-to-back talks about my research, tailored for two academic levels: an 8th-grade level and a non-expert graduate student level. I also presented one general slide at a lightning talk challenge.

ASBMB Today
This article reports on a clinical study that determined how age, physical activity and childbirth predict high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, or HDL-C, levels in the blood in a large, diverse cohort of adults. This multicenter study is one of the few to analyze HDL-C over an extended period, over 30 years.
OncoBites
This article describes how parasites can increase the risk of cancer, indirectly cause cancer, and may even be anticancer agents and potential targets for cancer immunotherapy.

I believe that summary slides are important and that visuals are highly effective in explaining more complex concepts.
Since my students in this class are health majors, I sometimes incorporate the medical relevance behind organic chemistry concepts.
My knowledge of biochemistry also aided in creating slides for this deck that introduced biological molecules as they relate to organic chemistry.
