SCI-ART COLLABORATIONS

Sci-Art is a method of communicating complex scientific concepts to a wider audience, enabling a broad dissimiation of science beyond the scieitific community (Fleerackers et al. 2022). I believe that illustrating key findings with art helps to break down barriers and spark curiosity of the natural world. Below is a comic created by Mace Mayor (@oudamates), a senior animation major at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. We were able to work collaboratively to illustrate an important result from my 2024 MSystems research article, "Bacterial community function increases leaf growth in a pitcher plant experimental system".
