Oh boy, where do I start here...
As Fictional Googology (often abbreviated as "FG") is slowly but surely dying, as someone that has been here for over a year, I'll give out my thoughts on my experience with FG.
(Most of these thoughts are unsurprising to most of you)
1. The community itself
More than 75% of the community is just filled with pre-teens that have literal no experience with the real world and they pretend they are the smart ones when they are not. Seriously, just try to find someone that is 18+ in FG (I'm one of them luckily lol). These children will just spam, say nonsense things, grammer that I personally can't even read, and worse of all, they cause dramas to get out of hand. Some of these users even will do EVERYTHING that you say, even if you didn't want them to (I'm looking at you CC285). The way to fix this is to literally BAN or BLOCK them until they are at least 13+ years of age, but there are pre-teens that are actually in the OKAY side, like Limit of Extending2023 and Dagan Thomas.
2. Entries
Now, I did not join FG when FG was in it's "golden age", but that does not mean I like the "current" state of FG. Literally most numbers beyond NEVER, ENDLESS, and THE FINAL ENDING are made up of weird words and names that are not easily rememberable and I consider them "one-time use" numbers. Now, don't get me wrong, there ARE numbers beyond The Real Final Point that DO make sense, like Bronze Number mastery (in Daniel Dixon's path), but we have stuff like "Tameuina Tasiaon" and weird number names in FF2K23's series "Numbers 0 to THE END OF NUMBERS" (especially Season 5 Episode 9). The way to fix this is to go back to using actual real dictionary words that actually make sense. Yes I do understand some of you don't have English as your main language, I get it. But, for the love of god, just use a translater like Google translate or Microsoft translater.
3. Cycles
First of all, why do we need cycles to start with? There's way more interesting ways to 'break' certain functions than just a boring cycle! Anyway, when Mathis R.V's "Numbers 0 to THE END" came out on March 5, 2022, after reaching ENDLESS a never ending 'phase to cycle to phase to cycle to phase to cycle...' cycle happened, which was known to be the birth of the cycles. NO! has taken this 'concept' and has put many cycles into his "Numbers 0 to ????? [Part II]", and to be fair many of them were unique! But then when "Numbers 0 to ????? [3]" rolled around, there's just a bunch of nonsense cycles flying around that do nothing but waste a lot of your time (and they take a long time to create too). Not to mention FF2K23's Metacycles (which are super powered versions of cycles) are even more boring since there's no originality in them. I, personally, would wish these would go away since they're unneccessary, but if not, AT LEAST GIVE EACH CYCLE UNIQUE AND SOME ORIGINALITY IN THEM.
Now, NO! is at least making cycles that are unique to each other in his BEYOND ???? series, which is a good start, but he hasn't continued that for a while which leaves many other cycles to be plain boring...
Also, just as a side note, THE MUSIC SHOULDN'T SPEED UP WHEN THE CYCLE DOES.
4. AE cycles (start)
Same thing can be applied to here, but instead these are meant to repeat some of the previous cycles and put them in one huge cycle. For example, in N0T?3.0, each class ending has a supercycle would repeat every cycle that was in that class. If we kept cycles (assuming they're fixed), they can be cool as a finale! But, you have to do it CORRECTLY. Don't make it more boring by JUST combining cycles, there needs to be something that makes it even slightly different than the previous cycles. Even as simple as some music sync can make an insane finale to a classification ending. Unlike normal cycles, you can speed up the music with the cycle, BUT KEEP THE GOD DAMN SOUND DOWN.
5. AE versions (after the AE cycles)
Often known as the 2nd biggest elephant in the community (1st biggest is dramas...), and these come directly after the AE cycles have sped up enough. First off, epileptic users can't even watch these or they have health problems, which is common for epileptic sections of many videos (even outside of FG). But secondly, they are just way too repetitive and too loud for a average person to handle. These take even longer than normal and AE cycles to create, due to the length of each AE version. Now, me personally, but how the hell is an AE suppose to 'increase' the number by 'a lot'? A normal function could easily increase faster without any AE version, just saying :p. The way to fix this is the way Psi explained it, just change the brightness and sound of AEs, and make them unique like what you should do with cycles, and you have yourself a better position than where your at.
Before going into thought #6, I'm just gonna say that my N0T?2.0 doesn't even follow many of these parameters despite my thoughts on FG. Therefore when I go back, I *might* have to REDO the entire thing due to how boring it would be EVEN with music sync...
6. Loops
These first appeared in the "golden age" of FG. If you've been living under a rock, long story short, a "loop" loops the part between 0 and the current large number before the loop. For example, the very first loop loops the part between 0 and Absolutely Eternal, and in order to 'increase' the number, you have to go through the entire thing again, and again, and again, an.. you get where I'm going. Even after the loop, you don't realize it but the loops continue even after they disappear, which is how I picture these. These can be epileptic, but they are not as bad as AE versions. The loops themselves don't really need to be fixed, but the "entry" associated with them do. There are unique loops throughout the entire FG, even if the entried associated with them aren't. For example, in LOE 5/6, there are Double Loops, Triple Loops, Quadruple Loops, etc. These can't truely be broken even if you tried to. Overall, I do like the cencept of these and I hope they continue to be that way...
7. Actual FG videos
These used to be fun and exciting, until the boring stuff comes along, which ruins the aspect of FG as a whole. First off, remember what I said about "pre-teens"? Well, whenever an AE would start, they would be screaming trying to find a 'shield' to protect themselves. Now, if it's just roleplaying, fine. But, sometimes this can even cause dramas to occur, which is, you guess it, is caused by these children that have nothing else to do. They also will, during AE versions, try to get people to go to bunkers to 'save themselves'. First off, this is very annoying as there are people that are trying to enjoy the video without nonsense, but also it could also be linked towards the amount of dramas that happen for NO FREAKING REASON. Also, 2-3 hours of a very long video (like 9-12 hours) is reserved for AE versions, which ruins the purpose to stay in the premieres. you know one FGer that never fails to disappoint? It's non other than Mathis R.V! The music he uses and the sync associated with it must be one of the greatest things I've seen, and the cycles and the end are starting to be more unique too! I do hope that continues though...
8. The SG section of FG videos
First off, Standard Googology (often abbreviated as "SG") makes a lot more sense. But secondly, FGers don't spend much time on the SG portion and will only make it around 5-15 mins before going beyond Absolute Infinity. I think there's a missed opportunity that could've been made to show the true 'spirit' of the ultimate numbers comparison. Now, some series does spend more time in SG than others, like FF2K23's Number Comparison, but there's still some entries that get missed on that could've been added, even if it makes a minor difference to the video. Just remember, FG videos can't start without SG being involved.
9. Actually working on FG videos
While yes we do want to have more interesting FG videos, it is also very exhausting to do exactly that. For instance, just working on FG nonstop can both make you very tired and bored, but also the worry of getting a video done as soon as possible. To be honest, quality is always going to win against quantity, and there is no shame if you absolutely have to delay videos if it takes very long, even if it annoys some of your fan base. They have to get over it, no matter what. Creators delay videos all the time, so don't hesitate if you have to be one of them! You health is, and will always be, more important than you trying to push as many videos as possible. I do know creators like FF2K23 have insane amount of motivation, however not everyone has that kind of motivation every day.
Once again, please please PLEASE take your time on your projects. While many are impatient with the time you take, taking as much time as needed always wins against rushing videos.
I am gradually losing FG, and there even is a 10^-15% chance I will fully lose interest in it, but for now I will not fully quit anytime soon.
So that's pretty much all of my thoughts on FG.
