Jesse Eughen Wightman family history

This website details some of the family history of Jesse Eughen Wightman, and his ancestors. Jesse was born in 1907 near Framlingham in the district of Plomesgate Sussex, Jesse died aged 78 in 1994 at Chelmsford in Essex. Jesse was married first to Dorothy Grace King and she sadly died in 1961, he then married Joan Margaret Fisher in 1967 and Joan sadly died in 2019. Jesse's daughter Grace (Dorothy was her mother) had sadly died earlier in 2018 and through his church friends we have inherited a large collection of photographs and documents detailing the Wightman family history, we have attempted to catalogue this and preserve it.

Jesse was a millwright by occupation and he was involved in preserving the Saxstead Post Mill located near Saxstead where he had spent much of his life. Jesse also appears to have been involved in family research, he was also active with a church group so he was kept fully occupied.

My connection to the Wightman family comes through a Girven family member that I have helped research her family, Linda Wightman has common ancestors to Jesse, her grandfather was Jess's nephew. Linda's Grandfather Walter Frederick Wightman had emigrated to Canada in 1907 with his wife Sarah Florence Beatrice and their 3 sons, they then had a daughter Winifred who was born in Canada.
