Have you ever heard of Rama and Sita and their epic love story? Well, you’re about to and in Sita’s own words. That’s right, you’ll hear their story through Sita’s perspective by reading some her personal diary entries. You will be able to get a better understanding of her personality and some of most toughest struggles she has faced in her life. Her diary gives us an insight of her raw emotions and her time with true love Rama.
In the first couple of diary entries, it focuses on how her dad sets up a challenge for her hand in marriage. This entry is actually quite sweet because this is when Rama won the challenge and how they ended up getting married. Sita opens up about her feelings of the challenge and Rama winning her hand in marriage.
In the second set of entries, Sita struggles with her emotion and faces some hardship as she was kidnapped and held captive by an evil king named Ravana. This king is also the enemy of Rama, Sita’s husband. Sita tells her time in captivity and what it was like. All the painful and heartbreaking time she waits for Rama to come save her.
The final few entries we really see Sita grow as a women as she is faced with Rama questioning her faith to him. This time she lets it all out. After Rama sends her to exile while pregnant with his children, she’s able to find her true self and able to accept who she is. Even though her love basically dumped her, she still is devoted to him and always will be. Sita learns to come to terms of her situation and focuses on raising her boys right.
From reading some parts of her diary, you’ll understand where Sita was coming from. Most of the stories about Rama and Sita were all focused around Rama, so hopefully this helps in seeing things more from Sita’s perspective.
