How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want true sport earbuds that stay locked on your ears through sweat, rain and long runs, choose Jesebang Earbuds; if you need to fall asleep with audio playing and hate the feeling of earbuds pressing into your head, choose Perytong 2. These two products get compared a lot, but they solve completely different problems — one is built for movement, the other is built for stillness.
• Jesebang Earbuds biggest strength: a sport-first design — soft ear hooks, 6 g per bud, IP7 waterproofing and Bluetooth 5.4 with up to 15 m of range.
• Jesebang Earbuds biggest trade-off: it's an in-ear earbud, so it's simply not built for sleeping on your side, and the audio is tuned for energy rather than quiet listening.
• Perytong 2 biggest strength: an all-in-one sleep kit — a flat-speaker headband plus a 3D contoured blackout mask, made for side sleepers and long nights.
• Perytong 2 biggest trade-off: it's a fabric headband, not a sport bud. There are no ear hooks, no waterproofing rating and no sealed in-ear fit, so it's the wrong tool for running or heavy workouts.
• Who each pick is for: Jesebang for runners, gym-goers and commuters who take calls; Perytong 2 for side sleepers, travelers, meditators and anyone fighting insomnia or cabin noise.
The Jesebang YT18 is a sports earbud through and through. The core design idea is retention: a flexible, soft ear hook wraps over the ear so the bud doesn't budge, and each earbud weighs only 6 grams. Three ear tip sizes (S, M, L) are included, which matters more than people think — a proper seal is what makes bass sound like bass. Speaking of which, the 14.2 mm dynamic drivers are on the large side for an in-ear bud, and the chamber design is aimed at deeper low-end. With a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz range and 32 ohm impedance, this is a mainstream, easy-to-drive tuning rather than an audiophile curve.
Where it separates itself from most cheap earbuds is the spec list around the edges. Bluetooth 5.4 with a claimed 30% boost in transmission speed, magnetic Hall-effect pairing so the buds connect the moment you lift them out of the case, and a 15-meter range — that's roughly double what most Bluetooth headphones manage, and it's genuinely useful if you leave your phone on a bench or treadmill while you move around. There are four ENC microphones that the spec sheet says filter out more than 80% of outside noise, so calls on a busy street or a noisy gym floor should come through clearly. Battery is 8 hours per charge and up to 48 hours total with the 400 mAh case, which recharges in about 2 hours; the case itself is rated at 40 hours of carry capacity. A dual LED display shows remaining power for both the buds and the case, which is a small thing that saves a lot of guessing. IP7 nano-coating handles sweat and rain. Touch controls cover play/pause, volume, track skipping, calls and voice assistants, and it works with iOS and Android.
Buy it if you run, lift, cycle or commute, want a secure fit you never have to think about, and care about call clarity and battery life. Skip it if you mainly want to listen in bed — an in-ear bud with ear hooks is exactly what side sleepers are trying to get away from.
The Perytong 2 isn't an earbud at all, and that's the whole point. It's a two-piece sleep set: a Bluetooth headband with ultra-thin, flat speakers sewn into soft stretchy fabric, plus a separate 3D contoured sleep mask. The headband speakers are deliberately flat so there's no pressure point when you lie on your side, back or stomach — the single biggest complaint people have about wearing earbuds to bed. The mask is ergonomically shaped with deep eye cavities so you can blink naturally without the fabric touching your eyelids, and it uses lightweight memory foam with breathable fabric to block light while staying comfortable. Both pieces have adjustable straps, so head size isn't a limiter.
On the tech side, the headband runs Bluetooth 6.0 for stable, power-efficient pairing with iPhone, Android or any Bluetooth device. The built-in rechargeable battery gives up to 14 hours of continuous playtime, which the spec sheet frames as enough to last the whole night, and a 1–2 hour USB-C charge tops it back up. The kit is genuinely complete: you get the wireless sleep mask, the wireless sleep headband, a manual, two Type-C cables and two sleep mask pouches. That's why it's pitched as a gift set — there's nothing else to buy.
Buy it if you're a side sleeper, you like falling asleep to podcasts, music or white noise, you travel and want to block cabin light and noise, or you meditate and want audio without anything jammed in your ears. Skip it if you need earbuds for running, gym work or sweaty outdoor training — there's no waterproofing rating here and no ear-hook retention, so the headband will slide and the fabric will soak.

My Verdict
Yes, clearly. Jesebang has ear hooks, 6 g buds, three ear tip sizes and IP7 waterproofing, plus Bluetooth 5.4 with up to 15 m of range. Perytong 2 is a fabric headband with no waterproof rating and no retention system, so it isn't built for sweat or impact.
I wouldn't recommend it. They're in-ear buds with ear hooks, which means pressure against your ear and the pillow if you lie on your side. Perytong 2 exists specifically to avoid that — its flat speakers and 3D mask are designed for side, back and stomach sleepers.
They're measured differently. Jesebang gives up to 8 hours per charge and up to 48 hours total with its 400 mAh case. Perytong 2 gives up to 14 hours of continuous playtime on one charge, which is meant to cover a full night. For all-day and multi-day use, Jesebang lasts longer overall.
Not in the same way. Jesebang uses four ENC microphones to filter outside noise on calls. Perytong 2 blocks noise physically — the 3D contoured mask and headband cover your eyes and ears rather than processing audio, which is a different approach for a different job.
