From the Country

In the late Spring of 2023, I went into the home-studio of Galway maestro Gabe Donohue to make a recording with Gabe as accompanist. The theme of the project was traditional music from the far south to the far north of the West Coast of Ireland and also a few pieces from Scotland for good measure. In my opinion, all these tunes spring from the culture of the Irish countryside and the very closely related West Coast of Scotland.

Ón Tuath will be available in the USA from January 3, 2024, and is presently available for sale at the following venues in County Mayo:

Joe Byrne is premiering Ón Tuath / From The Country on his radio show Ceol agus Ealion. The show is broadcast every Tuesday on Mayo's Midwest Radio (96.1 fm) from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. EST (10 p.m. - 1 a.m. in Ireland).
