Quarantine, written by Jerren Annah

I wrote this poem from a personal perspective as a summary of the events that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

A poem called Quarantine by Jerren Annah: For once, all life came to a halt in existence. Beneficial for some and draining for others. Even the earth was intrigued. But don't fool yourself into thinking This was the closest we had to world peace. Many events unfolded; Weeping communities and a caged World War; Fighting for the basic rights of minorities and George. It was a time to educate the uneducated. To lose friends and forge new bonds. A time to dismantle a system that favoured one, And rediscover the blood that connected us. An innovation of hobbies sprouted, Bringing forth a multitalented nation. Exposed illicit work to keep the cash stacking. Scandalous exposures of rule-makers not keeping their rules And fibbers telling fibs. But for once, and maybe just this once, We stood united.
