Hi! I am Jeremy Wong, a Ph.D. candidate at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego.
My research centers in earthquake source physics through observational and numerical methods. My current research focuses on developing new frameworks improving kinematic source inversion and better constraining in situ fault conditions with physics-based simulations. I am particularly interested in non-linear and high-dimensional problems with uncertainty quantification. I work with Prof Wenyuan Fan and Prof Alice-Agnes Gabriel on advancing source inversion and evaluating rupture dynamics through physics-based numerical simulations.
Prior to Scripps, I got my BSc. at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and conducted machine learning-based seismic analysis on hydraulic fracturing-induced earthquakes in Sichuan, China, with Prof Yang Hongfeng.
