I am a member of the Student Committee (StudC) of the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) since september 2023. We organise activities for students at the biannual CMS Meetings (research sessions, social events, poster sessions, and workshops), but we also oversee the bids for the Canadian Undergrad Mathematics Conference (CUMC), and offer some fundings for student events in Canada. Visit our website or join our discord server for more information!
I am the current Editor-in-Chief for Notes from the Margin, the student publication of the CMS. In particular, I was responsible for the following issues: Winter 2025, Summer 2025, Winter 2024, Summer 2024 (Assistant-Editor)
.
For those who are interested in participating in the next issue (Summer 2026), the submission deadline is March 29, 2026. You can find more information on our web page. Any question about Notes from the Margin can be redirected to student-editor@cms.math.ca
I manage a discord server for graduate students interested in number theory at the University of Waterloo. The server is mainly used to organise our regular seminar ( Student Number Theory Seminar ). Feel free to come join us!
Winter 2025 CMS Meeting: with AJ Fong and Zhenchao Ge, we organized a research session called Number Theory by Early Career Researchers at the 2025 CMS Winter Meeting in Toronto. We want to thank everyone who gave a talk and those who attended the session! This was the 5th time that such a session was held at a CMS Meeting, each time with a different set of organizers. If you would like to organize this session in the future (or any other research session), feel free to reach out to me and I can provide some more information!
UW-WiM DRP: The Women in Mathematics Committee (WiM) at the University of Waterloo organizes a wonderful Directed Reading Program. I have participated in this program twice as mentor and really appreciated the experience. Have a look at their website!
Pride Factors: in the past I have been involved with this new 2SLGBTQIA+ group in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. The group is always looking to expand its community. Please contact them at pride.factors@uwaterloo.ca if you want to learn more!
CUPE 5524: After a long organization campaign, the sessional instructors, research assistants and teaching assistants at the University of Waterloo finally have their own labour's union! Keep yourself informed by visiting the union's website (CUPE, local 5524).
Christine Eagles: She is an amazing researcher in Model Theory, soon to be employable! You should look at her publications, available on her website.
Books for sale: Karl Dilcher (Dalhousie University) maintains an amazing webpage for purchasing old mathematics books at affordable prices. It is worth browsing! All profits go in equal part to the CMS and the Dalhousie University.
