I am a perfect fit for a company looking for a highly skilled and versatile editor, writer, and content curator. In addition to being trained in editing, research, and critical thinking at Brigham Young University (BYU), I have four years of editing experience working for BYU’s online instruction department, a year of experience managing a scholarly publication, and experience as operations manager for a nonprofit networking association.
I graduated college in April 2021 and am now seeking part-time or full-time employment at a company where I can devote my extensive toolset to an inspiring cause. I am primarily interested in jobs in the Columbus, Ohio, area, but am open to other locations, including remote work or freelance work.
Editing – My editing experience covers all phases of production (developmental editing, substantive editing, factchecking, copyediting, and proofreading) and a wide variety of genres (technical instructions, math, science, academic scholarship, history, fantasy, and science fiction). I am trained in Chicago, MLA, APA, and SBL style.
Writing – My writing has been published in two journals and has won multiple awards. I am well-versed in a variety of mediums, including technical documentation, academic writing, blog posts, and fiction.
Web layout – I have built two fully responsive websites from scratch with HTML and CSS; you can tour one at atriumoflight.com. I have also managed websites hosted on WordPress and Brightspot.
Print layout – Using Adobe InDesign, I have typeset a complete issue of a scholarly journal (which included Greek and Hebrew fonts) as well as the contents and covers of two full-length novels.
Logistics – As the operations manager for a nonprofit and the content manager for a club, I have managed finances, curated website content, taken minutes for board meetings, answered company emails, composed marketing messages, and created more Google Sheets than I once thought possible.
