Teaching
Most of my teaching centers around financial statements, profitability analysis and valuation.
Please see the Free online material section below for a module on each of these three topics
I primarily teach at the CBS full time MBA but also occasionally teach at CBS Executive and exclusively for individual companies requesting sessions for employees needing to get a basic understanding of the topics in my areas of expertise
Free online material
I have made three videos are based on the case of MCB which a fictitious and stylized company “started” by my very real brother who I pretend to be in those videos. The three videos which can be accessed free of charge are as follows:
1) financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement)
2) profitability analysis
3) valuation
The videos are 208 minutes in total and include quizzes to keep you on your toes and to remind you of the most important take-aways.
1) Financial statements
This video gives an introduction to the three most central financial statements: the balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statement. What do they portray, how are they made, and how do they relate? Integrated in this video is the (much hated and much loved) double-entry bookkeeping system, which will also be introduced (in a very gentle manner).

This video introduces central financial ratios such as return on equity (ROE), return on net operating assets (RNOA) (aka. return on invested capital (ROIC)). Furthermore, it introduces concept of cost of capital. Finally, the absolute value creation measures, residual income (RI) and economic value added (EVA) are introduced.

3) Valuation:
This video introduces a range of different net present value (NPV) valuation models (e.g. the Dividend Discount Model, the Discounted Cash Flow Model and the Economic Value Added model) as well as relative (multiples) valuation models (e.g. Price/Earnings, Price/Book and EV/EBIT models)
