CLAS University Scholars Program
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) University Scholars Program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to work one-on-one with a CLAS faculty member on a research project. Scholars may engage in various types of scholarly work, including laboratory-based research, archival research, fieldwork, and other methodologies. To be eligible, students must be CLAS majors, and their faculty mentor must also be a member of CLAS.
The Cutler Scholars Program is specific to the Department of Economics. It is a two-semester commitment that begins in the fall and concludes at the end of the following spring semester. Cutler Scholar Award recipients receive a stipend at the end of each semester, contingent on satisfactory progress on their research project, as determined by their Faculty Research Mentor. Award recipients are expected to submit a 3–5 minute video summarizing their research project and results by the designated deadline in the spring semester. This video will be posted on the Department of Economics website. To be eligible, applicants must not complete their bachelor's degree before the following spring semester, ensuring they can participate for the full academic year.
Applications for both programs are due in early February.
