Project read is a tutoring service that provides support and help for adults with low literacy skills in Utah county. Volunteer opportunities require a brief training course for becoming a Literacy lab assistant and a longer more on-depth training course with the addition of six months commitment to become a one on one tutor.

Literacy Lab
Literacy Lab volunteers help literacy specialists in teaching small groups of students through writing projects and personal reading practice. Some responsibilities of Lab volunteers are:
Attending the Literacy Lab at least once a month
Participating in lab discussions and activities
Helping students one on one for writing/reading assignments or projects
Prepare and if needed teach small in small group settings
