Welcome! I look forward to getting to know each of you better throughout the school year. A little about myself:

I am the youngest of a large blended family from Mapleton, Utah. My dad is an auto mechanic and my mom is a registered nurse. I enjoy being outdoors (camping, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, etc), working on various projects, and spending time with my family. I am married to my wife, Amanda. We have two kids, Savannah and Owen.

I am a product of Nebo School District. I attended Mapleton Elementary (K-3), Hobble Creek Elementary (4-5), Springville Middle (6), Mapleton Jr (7-9), and Maple Mountain High (10-12). After graduation I went to Utah State for a year. Then when I decided on a major I transferred to Utah Valley.

I have seen the impact of good teachers in my life through my experiences from grade school through high school, and even at the College level. During my school years my favorite subjects were Math, Ag, and Wood-shop/Welding. In high school while participating in FFA and having agriculture classes, I thought that being an ag teacher was what I wanted to do for a career. Though I do not teach agriculture, the teaching bug stuck with me and I hope to spread my enjoyment of working math problems and ideas with my students.

Math has become a word that makes everyone cringe. I believe that we all are capable of doing well at math. I aim to shake the notion of math not being for everyone. Mathematics is around us everywhere, no matter which career path you choose you will find yourself using some form of math. In my class students will work hard at learning and retaining new material so that they can reap the rewards of being a successful mathematician.
