Research
I am an applied micro-economist with primary research interests in environmental economics and industrial organization. My other research interests are in economic education and behavioral economics. In my research, I use experiments and applied econometric methods to answer research questions in these areas. My research broadly focuses on the potential impacts of market mechanisms and behavioral interventions on the behavior of firms and individuals. First, I develop a theoretical framework to predict behavior and to identify possible channels through which, for example, policy interventions may operate. Then, I design experiments for the laboratory or the field to test the theoretical predictions and underlying channels. I also apply empirical techniques to carefully constructed data sets using naturally occurring data to study microeconomic questions.
