Kayteline: Hi! :) My name is Kayteline Barahona and I am 17. Some of my hobbies are to play piano, paint, write, and watch Netflix. I was born in December, 2002 and I am the middle child. I have been in 5 states in the U.S (California, Nevada, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Florida) and traveled out the country 4 times(Salvador 2 times and Mexico 2 times). I am bilingual (Spanish and English) and know some words in 4 other languages, as well as some sign language. My favorite fruits are watermelon and dragon fruit. My favorite vegetables are broccoli and green beans. I love Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, and How to Train a Dragon. I am Salvadorian, Mexican, American and Guatemalan. I was born in Inglewood and grew up in Lennox California, and still currently live in Lennox. I attend Animo Leadership College Readiness Charter High School as a senior. Covid has impacted my life and the life of others as my mom has had many co-workers pass due to COVID and her job is closing down. School was definitely an issue due to COVID and now I am not as close with some of my friends and class will be instructed through distance learning.
Jennifer: Hello, my name is Jennifer Davila and I’m currently a sophomore at Animo South La. I was borned and still reside in Los Angeles near Long beach. In my spare time I like to read novels and occasionally doodle, but watching Youtube takes up most of my time. I’m the youngest in my family and I have 2 older brothers. I’m Guatemalan and Bilingual, although in the future I hope I can learn sign language. Some ways COVID-19 has affected me personally is now I switched over to taking online classes and it’s a dramatic change. Due to this, I don’t get to see my friends anymore and learning through online classes is a bit harder. Along with that, two of my family members are essential workers and so we always make sure that we’re being extra cautious.
Victoria: My name is Victoria, I am 16 and live in Los Angeles with my family and loser brother. I am a future junior at Animo Pat Brown but also attended at Animo Venice.I am really social and love to go out, COVID -19 has affected me drastically but quaratine has taught me new things about myself, I have found my passion in writing and music artist like RUSS, Eminem, and Ckan have became my inspirations and even my idols. I describe COVID-19 as an apocalypse, I think of it like this because the world went crazy when they quarantined us, many people fought for things at stores and others were dying by a heart beat. i think that it is reaally important to take care of yourself and always take precautions.
Noemi :Hello my name is Noemi Ramos. I am currently a senior at Animo Watts College Preparatory Academy . I was in leadership in school. I love helping others during my free time. I would go to Animo Mae Jemison Charter Middle School to help . I would help translate for parent conferences. I would give tours of the school to incoming students and their families . I would make copes and help grade work. Another thing I would do in my free time is take an Art class. I am the only girl out of five kids . Covid 19 has affected my family because we can’t go see other family members who don’t live with us. Covid 19 has affected me and my little brother the most . We don’t get the help we need to be successful in school, we don’t get to see friends or even walk to the store anymore . My dad and two older brothers work in the sun all day with a Face mask on. We are all really scared for my dad. He has diabetes so we have to make sure to be careful .
