What Teachers Are Saying...
"I am walking away knowing changes in my lessons and how I can better support my students. Jen mentioned so many different ways of educating to get students to where they should be." - Grade 3 Teacher
"Nothing I learned in grad school matters…. LOL! In all seriousness though, this PD and the Science of Reading in general has really lit a fire in me to correct all of the “wrong” practices that myself and so many teachers have been doing for years. I have so many actionable, tangible ideas now that I am really excited about trying!" - Grade 2 Teacher
"I learned some reading strategies that I can incorporate into my speech and language therapy to help my kiddos who are struggling. The science behind reading is fascinating and I am looking forward to doing more reading on the subject." - Elementary Speech and Language Pathologist
"Jen is amazing - I always learn so much from her. This PD filled in a few gaps I had with regards to SOR - after having taking a couple other SOR classes I was so glad to fill in these blanks for myself. A couple examples: referring to trick words, if it's decodable don't spend too much time; word chain sequences; referring back to the venn-like diagram when analyzing irregular words, regular words, sight and HF words; and finally, always asking myself: WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?" - Reading Interventionist
"Your passion is contagious and such a nice way to get fired up for a new school year. I’ve been doing this many years but truly value learning new energy and inspiration! I am so grateful for this opportunity. Have a wonderful year- thank you for making us all better!"- Kindergarten Teacher
"I feel like I have a better understanding of how students learn to read and how to better support them. I have some strategies now that I will implement in both while class and small group instruction, especially around vocabulary." - Grade 3 Teacher
