Writing
My writing journey began in college when I wrote a monologue and song as a character I created named Lylice. Obviously based on me: she sang songs about social causes, came across funny when trying to be serious, loved school, teachers were her besties. Performing improvisation at the UCB and teaching at the PIT in NYC taught me how to write, and Lylice became my first full-length solo play. In addition to stage work, I appeared in many commercials, including Snickers Cruncher which premiered during the Super Bowl. I'm also part of the cast of the mockumentary Taste the Revolution which stars Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.
My adaptation of Lylice into a middle grade novel called Next to Mexico became my first publication, and I've been writing steadily ever since. The below have been published online or in physical book form. I'm at work now on a middle grade novel about flag football, a musical about libraries, and a new podcast about books.
