UCF researcher Dr. Laurene Tetard uses a laser positioner to build defined structures with the carbon they derive from broken greenhouse gas molecules in the Mathematical Sciences Lab on Tuesday. Tetard reused the carbon extracted from the harmful greenhouse gas methane which created a sustainable way to repurpose the gas and reduce the amount of methane in the atmosphere. “It’s a much broader definition of recycling but its still recycling in a way not just plastic recycling,” Tetard said.
