August 2022-July 2023 I will be interning with ACFB with their Education and Outreach team. During my time here, I will be assisting with the organization and execution of educational tours and workshops given to community members, companies/corporations, Girl Scout troops, K-12 students, and other groups.
I am a certified TEFL instructor through TEFL.org's 168-hour course. This program consists of six learning modules: Grammar, Principles, Methodology, Video Observation, Telephone Teaching, and Teaching Large Classes. After receiving this certification, I am qualified, and recognized by employers, to teach English to speakers of other languages.

To hear about my experience with Embrace, watch my Community Health Project done on Embrace for my PHE 4200 class:
In an effort to respect the privacy of the mothers and families Embrace serves, I have not included a picture of the women I volunteer with. Embrace works to educate, advocate, and empower refugee women during their pregnancy. During my volunteering time, I have provided transportation to moms to doctors appointments as well as advocate on their behalf to make sure they are provided with translation services as well as any other services they may need. I volunteer once or twice a month with Embrace. As of July 2022, I have volunteered over 50 hours in total with Embrace.
In September 2021, I attended a labor support and cultural competence training put on by Friends of Refugees (https://friendsofrefugees.com/). During this seminar, I learned about the stages of labor, labor support mechanisms, and how labor practices differ in most countries compared to the United States.
I have participated with the Cherokee County NAACP (The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) in both the Woodstock city Fourth of July parade and Holiday parade. Being a part of these parades helps raise awareness of the chapter within the community with the hopes of bringing in new members.
