6th Grade Dramatics:
This class is a quarter-long overview of theatre that students will be randomly selected for. Each 6th grader will be randomly assigned to their exploratory classes to give them a brief overview of multiple subjects so they can make a choice of which subjects they would like to study in 7th and 8th grade.
This class will cover improv, basic acting techniques, audition technique, and a brief overview of the different genres of theatre as well as technical theatre.
7th Grade Dramatics:
This is a semester-long course that students can choose. First quarter focuses on general acting technique, improv, ensemble building, and audition technique, and second quarter will focus on deeper technique through puppetry. We will go over types of puppetry, puppeteering, puppet construction, script-writing, and each student will build their own puppet, and write their own puppet shows that they will perform at the end of the semester.
