Dedicated. Positive. Advocate.
Hello Berlin, Kensington, and East Berlin residents! I'm Jen Jurgen and I hope to be elected to our Board of Education on November 7.Â
I have lived in Kensington for 25 years with my husband and we have a daughter who is currently attending Berlin High School.
I am a product of public education and have more than 30 years of experience working in higher education. Additionally, I have spent nearly a decade as a volunteer and advocate for Berlin schools and understand the importance of a strong educational system for our kids.
We are fortunate in Berlin that our Board of Education is non-partisan. I am a strong supporter of working together and keeping politics out of education.
Ensuring our schools are fiscally responsible yet properly funded. This will allow us to continue to provide equal access to resources and opportunities for all students, retain top educators and administrators, and maintain the high-quality education that prepares students for ongoing success.
Encouraging broader communication and collaboration with parents, teachers, students and the greater Berlin community. All should have the opportunity to have a deeper understanding of what is happening in our schools and how our tax dollars are used for education.
Providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students, protecting the academic tools and support they need to pursue future success after high school, whether in college, trade school or employment.
Mark your calendar to support my candidacy by voting for me in our November 7 election. I look forward to serving our community.
