Workshop Description
You may feel that you aren’t ready to lead others well. Don’t panic - no one arrives at their place of leadership with all the expertise they require! To this end we are offering a one-day leader development workshop that teaches and applies principles of becoming a growing and effective leader.
Whether you have been given a distinct position as a leader, or you are looking forward to becoming a leader in your future, the LDC Shepherd model is a biblical model that teaches the essentials of every leader’s responsibility. This workshop will begin your journey towards becoming a more intentional and effective leader by identifying and shoring up areas of needed growth.Take this opportunity in order to lead others well as a good stewardship of where God has placed you.
This workshop will grow your thinking, maturity and skills in leading others. It takes the mystery out of leadership by introducing the Lead-Develop-Care (LDC) framework that can be applied to any leadership role or task. Rooted in the shepherd model in the Bible, the LDC framework teaches the primary responsibilities and the critical aspects every leader must fulfill to succeed.
During this 6-hour online workshop you will gain a working familiarity with the framework and learn how to apply it to your situation. Your current leadership role and team relationships will be the basis of the activities to which you will apply the framework principles.
This one day seminar lays a foundation for the three primary responsibilities of a leader: Lead, Develop & Care. 50% of the day is in interactive dialogue and practical exercises. This seminar is recommended as a first step in your journey as a leader.
This Leader Development framework has been used to help leaders over 3500 leaders in over 75 countries.
This one day workshop includes self-reflection and planning exercises that will allow you to immediately apply the principles to your current role in your mission.
Biblically rooted, the LDC Shepherd Model is memorable, culturally relevant, and effective in cross-cultural settings.
Due to COVID10, this workshop will be completely online. This will enable those geographically scattered in Japan to join easily and safely. We will utilize breakout rooms to enable discussions throughout the day.
In this workshop we will be focused on the essentials of leading people, not programs or organizations. People leadership is about bringing out the best in others.
Workshop Presenter
In addition to his role as Tokyo Director, Mark serves as the director for Leader Development for Japan Navigators. Together with Jin, he has served in Japan for 19 years. Mark studied marketing and business at Virginia Tech. His current responsibility is developing leaders for the work in Japan and globally through LDI. (Leader Development Initiative)
Mark is passionate about living authentically within Japanese culture and sharing Christ with his friends. Mark and Jin have been married 20 years and have three children, Abbie (Sophomore at Wheaton College), Josiah (Senior at CAJ) and Kayla (Sophomore at CAJ).
