Hello! Welcome to my website. My name is Jelena Belic (maiden surname Glušica). I was born and raised in Novi Sad (Serbia), but since November 2023 I live in Vienna (Austria). I studied musicology at the Academy of Arts in my hometown. Before that, I was an awarded flute player. 

During my studies I discovered my voice in a choir and took private singing lessons. For me, singing was like a therapy, I always felt so relieved after singing. But, I was also very good at it. Since I'm a coloratura soprano, I sang all those ridiculously difficult arias written for that voice type. I also enjoyed singing in my beloved choir, one of the best vocal ensembles in Serbia. It is actually a church choir, so I was able to build my technique and endurance singing for several hours without a break. I learned a lot about singing and my voice, traveled a great deal and participated in some of the most important concerts.

Since high school, I have been writing for different bulletins about classical music. I published mainly interviews with prominent musicians that came to Novi Sad to perform, teach or take part at a competition as jury members. I always thought I would work as high school teacher, but somehow I started working at a local church radio station as a music editor. I have written several hundred shows about classical music and was dedicated to promoting art and culture. Later, I started working at Radio Novi Sad as a journalist, editor and author. For my show about classical music "Music Salon" I was awarded with Musica Classica prize. Now I'm trying to reach people who like classical music through my blog.

Besides music, I enjoy visiting museums and since I live in Vienna, there is so much art to be discovered. :)
