Hiking
There are several courses within a 20-minute car ride from our hotel:
Route 14-1 has a total distance of 9.3km and takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
Route 9 has a total distance of 11.8km and takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
Route 10 has a total distance of 15.6km and takes approximately 5-6 hours to complete.
We would happily arrange a taxi If you are interested in exploring any of these trails.
If you plan to hike Mount Hallasan, you must make a reservation for the top courses, Seongpanak Trail and Gwaneumsa Trail, at the Reservation Site. You can explore other courses without reservation.
The Yeongsil Trail is a moderately strenuous route that takes about 2.5 - 3 hours to complete (5.8km).
Manjanggul Lava Tube (UNESCO World Heritage) is one of the largest lava tubes in the world. Most of the cave is closed off, with only 1km open to tourists. This will take around 40-50 minutes round-trip.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone (UNESCO World Heritage) is a crater 180 meters above sea level. It is about 600 meters in diameter and 90 meters deep. There are about 500 steps up to the crater. Although the slopes of Seongsan Ilchulbong are steep, steps have been built up to make it easier to climb.
