Cards came on the back of cereal packages (box cards) or as mail order sheets of ten perforated cards from each team (Company). Some of the differences are perforations and the thickness of the actual cardboard. The box cards are a heavier, less flexible card stock.
There are four company only cards in the set--5 Bob Turley, 73 Chuck Estrada, 94 Chuck Stobbs and 106 Eddie Mathews. Estrada and Stobbs are the two toughest cards in the set. Mathews was made available only via mail order.
There are three ways to differentiate the box from the Company (which was a mail order 10 card perforated panel). 1) the perforation is the telltale sign that you have a Company card, 2) is actually the thickness of the cardboard--so you need to compare a box only card with a card with perforations--and you will be able to tell the difference, and 3) the Company cards colors seem duller, the white paper seems to have turned into a dull white.
There are also a number of tough box only cards:
10 McDougald, 135 Bill Virdon 163 Roach, 183 Roy McMillan

Cards were printed on different sizes and brands of cereal. This is the cause for the color differences--and yes you will see gray skies and bright blue skies on many of the players. This is the easiest of the Post sets and there are no real difficult cards of Pirates other than the blue line Clemente card. There are three cards in this set that have blue lines between the statistics--Koufax, Jay and Clemente. Again this error was a result of printing on a different cereal

1962 Jell-O (69/197 = 35%) Missing Post Symbol (29, 82, 176 not issued) Thanks to Peter Mead for my first Jell-O. 68 from Wes Shepard!
1962 Jello was supposedly only distributed in the mid-west. Numbers and players match up with the 1962 US set. But there are no blue and red borders (for AL and NL) on these cards and no Post logo. This set is extremely difficult and there are some cards that are NEVER available including three Pirates--Haddix, Law and Hal Smith (again). Dick Groat is pretty easy to find--as he wasn't that far removed from his MVP season.
