I'm Jeff, an Assistant Professor at UC Riverside Statisics. Formerly I was a postdoctoral fellow in Biomedical Informatics and Data Science at Yale University and a visiting assistant professor in Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. I received my PhD in Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University under my advisor Amir Ali Ahmadi (PhD Thesis here). I received my Bachelor's in Computer Science and Economics & Mathematics from Yale University in 2014.
My research interests include large language models, data science and statistics, computational complexity, polynomial optimization, game theory, and mechanism design. My current projects are primarily about the use of higher order derivative information and the applications of large language models for biomedical applications.
