(Both Organic and Chemical Lawn Programs Offered)
1. Spring – Fertilization (heavy rate) for fast growing and long lasting green lawn. Also use Pre-emergent Control – this will control crabgrass, henbit, knotweed, annual blue grass, purslane and many others.
2. Late Spring – Fertilization plus weed control if needed.
3. Summer – Fertilization (slow rate).
4. Fall – Fertilization (double rate) to add essential nitrogen to help thicken the root system
5. Late Fall – Fertilization to encourage early spring growth.
6. Grub Control - Fall marks a peak feeding time for grubs as they fatten up before winter. Once soil temperatures drop, grubs dig in, heading 4 to 8 inches below ground, where they’ll stay until spring. That means early fall – before temperatures drop– is a key time to go after grubs, and as a result you can help prevent some of the most common lawn problems before they start.
Soil Testing – This is recommended every three years to measure the proper pH of the soil. The cost for this procedure is $30.00
Other possible options at an extra cost:
1. Dethatching
2. Liming
3. Aeration
4. Seeding
5. Disease control
6. Geese Control
7. Organic lawn program
Deer Tick Spray – Yards with woody areas and a lot of deer should be sprayed every 4 – 6 weeks to help control the ticks. Can be applied anytime in the season.
(Both Organic and Chemical Sprays Offered)
Geese Control – A repellent to keep the Canadian Geese out of your yard.
Spraying for Trees and Shrubs:
Hemlock Spray – Dormant oil spray applied to hemlocks for the control of wooly adelgid. If hemlocks are infested with woolly adelgid, a second dormant oil spray is highly recommended. This spray can be applied any time during the spraying season.
First Spray – Dormant Spray – This is applied to trees and evergreens for the control of spruce bud gall, aphids, mites and scale.
Second Spray – This is applied to control inchworm, sawfly, cutworm, tent caterpillars, gypsy moths, all chewing insects and scale in the crawling stage, and birch leaf miner.
Third Spray – This is the same as the second spray.
Special Spray – This is applied to all evergreens and rhododendrons, laurels, and azaleas. It is used to control leaf lacewing fly, red spider, mites, aphids and leaf miner.
Fungicide Spray – This is applied to trees for cedar apple rust, anthracnose, leaf spot, powdery mildew, black spot, etc. We saw a large increase in cedar apple rust in the past 2 years. If you have an apple or crab apple tree, it should be sprayed 3 or 4 times to control the problem.
Deer Repellent - Applied to trees and shrubs so deer will not eat them.
