ACADEMIC PROFILE
Jeff Prince is Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy and the Harold A. Poling Chair in Strategic Management at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. His research focuses on industrial organization, applied econometrics, strategy, and regulation, with particular emphasis on competition, consumer behavior, technology markets, and telecommunications.
Professor Prince has been recognized for excellence in both his research and his teaching during his time at the Kelley School and while at Cornell. He is an author of multiple textbooks covering a range of core microeconomic and econometric principles in managerial economics and predictive analytics. His research has appeard in top journals in economics and management, including the American Economic Review, the International Economic Review, Management Science, and the Academy of Management Journal. He has also published in top journals in industrial organization, including the Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization.
Professor Prince served as Chief Economist at the Federal Communications Commission during 2019 and 2020, advising the Chairman on economic policy, auction design, data analytics, and antitrust matters.
Professor Prince received his BS in mathematics and statistics and BA in economics from Miami University and his PhD in economics from Northwestern University.
Professor Prince serves as a co-editor at the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy. He is also on the board of editors at Information Economics and Policy.
The Journal of Economics & Management Strategy publishes leading research at the intersection of economics, management, and strategy, including work in industrial organization, competitive strategy, organizational economics, technological change, and related fields.

ECONOMIC EXPERTISE
Professor Prince applies economic theory and empirical methods to complex questions involving antitrust and competition, consumer protection, intellectual property, damages, and valuation. He has authored dozens of expert reports and provided expert testimony in deposition and at trial on many occasions. His expert work draws on his academic research in industrial organization and applied econometrics and his experience as Chief Economist at the Federal Communications Commission.
