IR 369: Politics of Money in the World Economy
This course provides an introduction to the comparative and international politics of monetary and financial relations. Topics covered include: the impact of COVID-19, financial crises, key international currencies (U.S. dollar, the Euro, and the Chinese Yuan), central banking, financial regulation, exchange rates, the operation of international capital markets and offshore finance, and the role of international institutions, including the International Monetary Fund, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, and the Financial Stability Board.
