The TDOS Mentorship Program was started with the intent to connect 1st and 2nd year medical students interested in ophthalmology with 3rd and 4th year mentors applying to ophthalmology residency. By connecting with mentors, we are hoping that lower years will find a safe space to ask questions about applying to ophthalmology residency and all the steps involved in the process: finding research, scheduling rotations, shadowing attendings, etc. Our goal is to create a supportive community at Jefferson and help students foster professional relationships.
All students are invited to participate in the mentorship program! Mentor matches will be sent out on a first come first serve basis based on total number of mentors and availability.
To create a safe space for lower classmen interested in ophthalmology to ask questions and receive guidance from upperclassmen peers
To create a supportive community for students interested in ophthalmology
Interest forms for mentors/mentees will be sent October or November 2023.
