Located in Broomfield, Colorado, Jefferson Academy (JA) Elementary is a Jefferson County public charter school founded in 1994. JA Elementary educates over 750 students in grades K-6 from the surrounding areas of Westminster, Broomfield, Arvada and Golden.
Growth in character. Academic achievement. A love of learning. Those are the tenets of JA. As a PTO, we are here to support our community of parents, teachers, students and educational leaders. Our families' 20 hours-per-year of volunteer time are a big part of life at JA. Whether at school or out and about, all of your dedicated time counts towards your total. That includes shopping, crafting, cooking, and even attending our monthly PTO meetings! If you have volunteered outside of school hours, please enter that time here.

Former Treasurer Jessica Tafoya Sentenced in Theft Case.
JA PTO to Receive Full Reimbursement for Stolen Funds.
Broomfield, CO – September 16, 2019 – Following two years of investigation and prosecution by the Jefferson County District Attorney, Jefferson Academy PTO would like to share that former Treasurer Jessica Tafoya was sentenced in the theft of nearly $60,000 from the K-6 elementary school’s PTO. Tafoya, who was found guilty of the theft of $58,453.02 during her tenure as Treasurer from 2015-2017, will pay full restitution plus an additional $6,000 to the courts. She will also serve 120 days of community service and four years of probation. Read more.
