Jefferson Center is a local nonprofit that offers a variety of treatment options for treating substance misuse.

Points West Syringe Services Program

Points West is a safe, anonymous, confidential and stigma-free space offering syringe services at no cost. In addition to new syringes and disposal of used ones, participants have access to other safer injection gear, safer tools for smoking and snorting, overdose prevention education, naloxone (Narcan), sharps containers, HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) testing, and more.

If someone you know uses substances, including powders, pills or homemade vapes, be ready to use Narcan.

Naloxone (brand name, Narcan) can reverse opioid overdose if administered to a person who has taken an opioid or an opioid combined with an other substance.

  • It is legal to use and carry in Colorado.

  • It won't hurt the person if they aren't experiencing an overdose.

Test strips can tell you whether there is or isn't fentanyl mixed into another substances.
