Jedi Classes are something you select upon ascending to Knighthood. These Classes are what define you and indicate what type of Jedi you are. The Jedi Subclasses are groups that you can partake in to assist certain aspects in The Jedi Order. All of this is a choice that you make when the time comes.
DISCLAIMER: Only the Jedi Lorekeepers and the Jedi Temple Guards Subclasses are currently in operation. Any rank can join those as long as they are determined to ascend Knighthood later on.
Jedi Classes are what defines a Jedi. Commonly, the color of your lightsaber blade is what someone could easily identify your class by. Every class is important in The Jedi Order, and there are multiple subclasses for each class to become a part of.
Jedi Consulars is the most important class in The Jedi Order, as it consists mainly of knowledgeable Jedi and potential leaders. Choosing this class means you seek the wisdom of Jedi Consulars and wish to become a disciplined individual.
Jedi Sentinels is somewhat of a balance between the other two Jedi Classes. This class takes knowledge of the Force and the discipline of combat and puts use of non-Force abilities. Individuals of this class are often intelligent in stealth or security.
Jedi Guardians are more skilled and disciplined in lightsaber combat. They commonly have a blue lightsaber and are often spotted on the battlefields. Jedi Guardians are also sometimes responsible in the educating of lightsaber combat under the supervision of the Jedi Battlemaster.
A universal subclass is a subclass that individuals from any class may join.
A Jedi Shadow was someone who was assigned to destroy anything related to the Sith. Jedi Shadows were commonly equipped with a double-bladed lightsaber and were trained to always expect a battle.
Jedi Consular Subclasses
Jedi Ambassadors were similar to Diplomats, but they would serve as representatives in the Galactic Republic or to serve as advisors for the Galactic Senate. The Jedi Ambassadors would serve under the Council of Reconciliation.
Jedi Diplomats had an important duty: They were expected to solve any situations that could lead to “bloodshed”. Diplomats commonly used Form 0 and were looked at as respectful and peaceful individuals. They would also be in charge of forming treaties with exterior communities.
The title of Jedi Lorekeeper is a rather “broad term”. It normally means a Knight who wishes to set off to become a Jedi Consular. The duties of Lorekeepers were to essentially contribute to those who forge holocrons and to lend knowledge onto the new generations of scholars. The Jedi Lorekeepers would serve under the Council of First Knowledge.
The duties of a Jedi Seer was to analyze the visions of the Force. They would decipher these visions and report them to the High Council and Council of First Knowledge. They would also sometimes update holocrons and process information.
The duties of a Jedi Healer is to heal the wounded of the Jedi Order and to lend their knowledge of healing onto those of the Jedi Academy who dream of learning the ways of a Jedi Consular. Jedi Healers may be stationed in the Jedi Temple or even on battlefields.
Jedi Sentinel Subclasses
The duties of a Jedi Watchman was to serve as a guardian on certain planets. They also had a side-responsibility to search for Force Sensitives and recruit them into the Jedi Order.
Jedi Temple Guards served as the Jedi Order’s form of security force. They would often protect the temple or handle individuals who break the law. They have unique uniforms and lightsabers. Temple Guards would serve under the Chief of Security.
Jedi Guardian Subclasses
The duties of a Jedi Peacekeeper was very similar to the Jedi Temple Guards. However, Peacekeepers were often expected to “suppress violence before it erupted.” Jedi Peacekeeper were also tasked with protecting the valuables within the temple and to protect civilians who lived nearby.
An exotic weapon specialist was an individual who was skilled in using unusual weapons, such as a “whip”. There were very few exotic weapon specialists and this title could only be bestowed to Jedi Masters.
A Jedi Battlemaster was the title given to an individual who specialized in teaching lightsaber combat. There could only be one Battlemaster at any given time, and they must be hand-picked by the Jedi High Council. Jedi Battlemasters were in charge of selecting other Jedi Masters to assist in the teaching of lightsaber combat under the supervision of the Jedi Battlemaster.
