This course introduces basics of remote sensing and develop practical skills through hands-on exercises that enable students to apply remote sensing techniques. The course deals with the definition and interpretation of remote sensing, major topics including multispectral, thermal imaging, RADAR, and LiDAR. The instructor focuses on the geographical applications of remote sensing. The final objective is to explore methods for applying artificial intelligence within the field of remote sensing.
2026 Spring
This course deals with the regional factors contributing to disparities in development. It examines the characteristics of various regional issues that impede poverty and inequalities, explores both successful and unsuccessful cases of regional development, and analyzes the spatially unbalanced development in South Korea and low-income countries. Students will also develop the capacity to think critically from a geographical perspective, enabling them to address the central question: “Why do regions experience different trajectories of growth and development?”
