Hello! I'm Jean Lau (he/they/she) and I am a multi-disciplinary artist who grew up between Hong Kong and the Bay Area. 

I enjoy creating with many forms of art, as you will see in this portfolio website. However, my current specialty and main line of work is in stage lighting design. 

My first foray into the Theatre World was on the performance side, as I did acting in high school, and enjoyed it very much. Then in college (at Santa Clara University, class of 2024) is where I began exploring the tech side, and with access to personal mentorship plus many hours of hands-on training, I found myself deeply immersed in lighting.

There is something immensely satisfying about having specific technical knowledge such that I can take a vision and implement it into the physical realm of reality. And to collaborate with artisans of a wide variety of fields is a wonderful way of creation.
