Hello, I'm Jean. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Communications Engineering (CCE) from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2017. I received my Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (Decision, Information and Communications Engineering (DICE) field) from the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) in May 2020. I am currently pursuing a PhD at UT Austin under the supervision of Professor Gustavo de Veciana. My current research focus is on enhancing vehicular safety through algorithms that allow optimal sensor selection and optimal rate allocation among communicating sensor nodes. I am also interested in applying computer vision algorithms to enhance the self-driving vehicle's safety through local and global positioning.

In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors. I like hiking, biking, kayaking, surfing and all kinds of outdoor activities. I also enjoy watching and taking sunset pictures. Please check my photo album for beautiful pictures of the outdoors :)
